Our story

After decades in senior technical and leadership roles at Ballard Power Systems and AFCC, we founded Novel Sensors Inc. in 2018 with a specific idea: build a gas sensor simple enough and inexpensive enough to deploy at the scale the emerging hydrogen economy would need.

As we developed the technology, it became clear the same capabilities — passive sensing, millimeter scale, low power — were applicable well beyond hydrogen.

The technology has matured from early research to working prototypes — validated independently and in real-world conditions. We are now actively engaging with partners across target applications to put it to work.
